The Effective Tips to Keep You Stay Away from Skyrocketing Mobile Phone Bills during Traveling!

September 14th 2009 13:15
Some people love to use mobile phone to chat or messaging their friends or clients, even though they’re in a vacation!

Maybe you didn’t aware that the charges for international roaming is extremely expensive than the ordinary phone calls!

Here is a real case, where one of my friends, Joanne and his husband, Matthew about the ridiculous mobile phone bills. For your information, Joanne and Matthew were off for a vacation to Korea. Due to the business, Matthew has no choice but to use his mobile phone to contact his client. Everything seems to be fined, until they came back to home and found out the Verizon bill!

The monthly Verizon bill is stated at US$5,500, which is 22 times more than his usual expenses! He double checked the bill and discovered the eye-popping US$2.50 a minute for mobile phone calls.

Joanne told me that the mobile phone bill had nearly wiped out their checking account, where they’re almost missed the mortgage payment! It’s totally a disaster to them.

Joanne said it’s nonsense, as they never expect that the mobile phone bill would turn into a burden to them.

I’ve several effective tips, which might be able to put you out from the trouble of hammering by the sky-high international roaming fees:

You should subscribe a new mobile plan
Switch your current mobile phone plan to the overseas calling plan. The typical rate for oversea calling plan is ranging from 99 cents to $1.49 per minute, which is much cheaper than the ordinary mobile phone call plan.

Use the VoIP
The VoIP is the best alternative for mobile phone. Let’s take an example. The calling rate for Skype is 50 to 75 percent cheaper than the mobile phone call rate! In this case, you can make a longer call and without having to worry about the ridiculous phone call bill.

Swap Your Mobile Phone Cards
It’s a very tricky one. When you’ve arrived on a foreign country, you can go to the local mobile phone shop and buy a local mobile phone call. It helps you to save a lot of money, when you’re using the local SIM card to make the phone call!

The above three tips are only suggestion for you, it’s better not to make any mobile phone call during your vacation, as it’s the best time to spend some quality time with your family/friends!

If you want the most from your holiday and travel, forget the phone, except for emergencies.

If you can't live without that wretched thing, stay home, you have my support entirely, Wilson.

Techno: Yeah, is there any problem with it?

Katyzzz: To be frank, I personally felt it's very disturbance, especially if I heard or saw a person using mobile phone when we're in vacation.
