The Magical Vacation in Croatia

October 16th 2009 20:20
Yesterday, I dropped a visit to my friend, Ethan’s house. Honestly, he’s the one who called me during my lunch time. He said he just returned from a four days trip and would like to share the experience with us (My girlfriend and me).

Well, you know I loved to hear story or adventure from others, thus I have no reason to reject his invitation!

We reached at Ethan’s home about 7 p.m. After we having dinner with him and his lovely wife, Elise, they started to show out some of the pictures that they’ve taken at Croatia by using the projector.

According to Ethan’s description, Krk is a Croatian Island in the northern Adriatic Sea. Beside of Cres, Krk is the largest Adriatic island, with an area of 406 km2. The two-arch Krk Bridge is recognized as one of the longest concrete bridges in the world, which is measuring up to 1,430m in length.

Ethan said that there are many accommodation in Krk. They chose to stay at Hotel Park Punat, which is one of the most popular and fabulous hotels in Krk. Elise said that she was in loved with the Mediterranean cuisine, as it’s utterly irresistible (Ok, nice try, Elise. Now, you made both of us mouth-watering! Lol).

Ethan told us, Krk also known as “The Golden Island” since thousands of years ago. He was fascinated with the Krk town, which the buildings are covered with orange color-roof. He mentioned that the underwater world around the island is definitely outstanding.

Elise said that she is a nature lover. In this trip, she has the chance to see different wildlife across the woods in Krk. Some of them are very rarely in other countries, such as the griffon vulture, Croatian Snipe and much more.

By the way, Ethan has shown us a town called “Baska” in Croatia. Beside of the 1800-meters-long pebble beach, Baska is also the location of the ruins of a fortified town and church from Byzantine period. In here, we can find many Romanesque churches lying peacefully at the center of Baska.

Time flies by, when Ethan’s couple finished showing and explaining us their trip, it’s already 10 p.m. We thanked them for inviting us to have a delicious meal and sharing their trip with us. I promised to do the same, next time when we go travel to some interesting places that never been before. After that, we went home with a pleasure feeling…
